ethical issue - justice

just a random thought.

one of the many ethical targets of medicine is Justice - we need to ensure our care and resources are distributed to those in need, irrespective of how much we're getting paid by them.

this ties in with the ethical issue of organ donation / marketing but then I'd like to relate to daily life - what would you do when you have 2 scenarios -
when you have someone who NEEDS help, but doesn't want them. - these are the people who seems like they have no problem in their life, and suddenly get found with a smashed head on a concrete floor at the bottom of a tall building.
and we have another who WANTS help, but don't need them. - these are your everyday attention-seekers who frets over literally nothing. they would be upset over a bad hair - and they say they'd feel better if you listen to them.

its easy for us to say "obviously, we're going to help the people who needs them" but then, it is really quite difficult.

firstly, it is difficult to help people in need (but don't want) since they will never come to you. you need to go to them. and sometimes they will hate you for it.

secondly, it is so much easier for us to help people who wants help, since they will thank you for it- maybe even pay you extra. they always come to you, too.

so how do we ensure we are in justice, in this case? do we ignore the fact that there are just some people who really don't want help and we should let them be?
