had an MRI taken at the Radiology dept.
It was quite a scary experience as the patient must be pushed into a small space and left there for a certain amount of time, and they would actually hear the MRI machines working.
it was fine for me as i knew i had no discernible illness but it must be quite traumatizing for the patient who already has concerns for his/her disease.
I felt the need for a very clear explanation and reassurance for every kind of investigations done.
Angioplasty
watched another angioplasty. this time, the coronary artery opening at the opening of aorta was not corresponding to the wire so an another guidewire was used. i was impressed to know that there were a lot of different types of guide wire types.
Sterben
a patient passed away at ICU under Dr. L due to severe pulmonary effusion secondary to heart failure.
the family member were around the bed, as the doctor assessed the conditions of death.
I asked him how would he talk to the relative after the death of a patient; the doctor imparted to me that the important thing is not post-mortem, but his explanations before all that. he stressed that clear and extensive information should be given to the patient and patient's family so that they won't have any doubts and possible allegations to the doctor's treatment.
